Our products comply with the European NOMITE-classification, which documents that our down products cannot contain house-dust mites. The shell is so closely woven that the house-dust mite cannot penetrate it.

All of our down products are allergy neutral, as they can be washed at 60°C - the house-dust mite dies at 55°C. There is just one exception, products with eiderdown inside cannot be washed.

Many people mistakenly believe that they are allergic to down. Only 2-3% are allergic to down and feathers, the culprit is usually that they are allergic to house-dust mites. Symptoms of allergies to house-dust mites can be nasal congestion, sneezing, eye itching, red and swollen eyes, and the exacerbation of childhood eczema and asthma. The symptoms are very much like hay fever.

House-dust mites have optimal living conditions, when humidity is high and the temperature is between 17 and 32 degrees as it often is in the bedroom. The enzymes in mite feces and fragments of dead dust mites can cause allergies. A house-dust mite can excrete 200 times its own weight in excrement a day.
